PULP RANGE
Highly textured sculptural forms made from paper pulp and cast in precious metal.
Reminiscent of metallic nuggets mined from the earth, this range is a result of experimenting with paper pulp to create irregular forms which have been sand cast in recycled precious metals such as sterling silver. The range includes a pendant, earrings, a ring and a pair of cufflinks.
I was drawn to the almost child like nature of sculpting in paper pulp and how this allows for the creation of interesting shapes with your hands. This method of working produces fascinating irregular surfaces and forms that become very precious and elegant when transformed into metal. After making a series of models made from paper pulp, these were sand cast in silver, I then picked the most interesting forms to feature in a range of jewellery.
